His considerable experience has been gained working across several industries including manufacturing & engineering, financial services and retail sectors. Additionally Barry has worked at board level guiding and helping fast growth businesses to achieve significant success.

Martin Shields (Non-executive Director)

Martin is one of the pre-eminent figures in the UK call centre industry with more than twenty years experience managing and running large outsourced contact centre operations. Following a successful career working with Unisys and IBM, Martin co-founded Merit Direct Limited which was started in 1984.  Merit Direct became the leading UK call centre operation with a headcount of more than two thousand people. Its client list included many of the UK 's largest companies such as British Gas, AC Nielson, Boots and Panasonic.

Merit Direct was merged into Sitel UK in the early 1990's and Martin subsequently became the Chairman and Global Marketing Director for SITEL INC. ( Europe ) which is one of the world's largest contact centre operations with over 14,000 employees. Over recent years Martin has also been the Chairman of Telescope UK, which is one of the leaders in automated call handling solutions as well as holding senior positions within the UK Direct Marketing Association.
